Buddi is a personal finance and budget management program. It is an open source application, so anyone can use it for free. The program is not complex; it is designed for home users, who just need software to keep all their money records.
We see three tabs: “My Accounts”, “My Budget” and “My Reports”. What we need to do first is create an account. Then we can fill in different budget categories like “Bonus”, “Investment Income”, “Salary”, etc. We may add custom fields too.
The preferences / settings are quite small and simple with options like “Auto Complete Transaction”, “Overdraft Limit Information”, etc. Well, I am quite new to programs dealing with money and transactions, and I found it easy to use.
I really like its report making. You will get reports in the form of tables, pie charts, graphs, etc., on income, and expenses, for example. Reports are generated in HTML files. Everything is stored in a database file, very much portable that could be locked using a password.
Inbuilt help is not present, however it can be found on its website. Also, some plugins to improve the functionality of the program can be found there. |
